How Does Manual Lymphatic Drainage Help?

Lets take a quick look at the lymphatic system first to understand better.

We have a lymphatic system that are vessels that remove cell waste, proteins, excess fluid, bacteria and viruses. We also have lymph nodes around the body, this is where the fluid is filtered and cells known as lymphocytes attack and destroy the foreign bacteria.

When this system is working well, we feel good and have energy. However, if there are blockages or its sluggish after say injury or surgery, we can begin to feel tired, have swelling and me more susceptible to infections.

Its not just people who have had surgery and are suffering with swelling. It can serve many of us very well. If you've been feeling ill, or had an injury it could help you get back on track. It is a very gentle massage that is not aimed to go as deep as the muscles, but instead to help open the blood vessels, and unblock th

e lymph nodes and stimulate the lymphatic system in to functioning better.

Due to its very gentle and rhythmic nature it can help for those suffering with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome as it wont cause pain on any of the trigger points.

Its also great for helping with relaxation and can help aid sleep due to its very gentle nature.

If you're feeling a little run down or had surgery its certainly worth a shot to see it can help you.

If you have any questions about this or any of my other services please do not hesitate to get in touch.
